Grime? Dub? Electronica? A female solo rapper? And half Swedish? Yes, yes, yes, yes and most definitely yes.

GoldieLocks is an up and coming feisty female artist that stands somewhere between Dizzee Rascal and Gang Gang Dance and she's doing it all by herself. We grabbed a few fleeting moments with the rising star to see what she was up to when she hits Texas for this years SxSW Festival.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) How many times have you been to SxSW?

I've never been to SXSW or Texas before so really looking forward to it.

2) What's the best thing about being in Austin? or if you've not been before.... What are your tourism related plans?

I actually haven't planned anything as of yet, apart from eating a lot of good food and attempting to get some kind of tan. I'm just gonna let nature take it's course, I'm sure I will end up at some fun places!

3) Why are you playing SxSW? (Cos we hear the money isn't too good)

I saw some really good bands on MTV2 coverage of SXSW a few years ago that I hadn't heard of before and just thought it was a great way of finding new bands. Plus it looks like a lot of fun, a good way to make new contacts and it's always great to see new places, I like to travel a lot.

4) Who are you showcasing for, and where and when can we expect to see you?

I'm playing at The Rio on the 21st and also the Red Bull Moon Tower stage but I don't know the date just yet.

5) Which other bands/artists are you most looking forward to seeing over music week?

CocknBull Kid, Afrikan Boy, AC Slater, The Black Lips, Amanda Blank, Solange and Ebony Bones.

6) Will you visit the Film or Interactive sections of SxSW this year? Or is time tight?

I'll definitely try to check out as much as I can. But music, food and alcohol is my primary focus =)

7) What does the rest of 2009 hold for you?

I always find that question hard as no-one ever knows what the future holds. I try not to make plans or map out my releases as you never know how music will turn. Soon I'm filming a video for a track of mine called 'Cold Sweat' which will be very dark and different.
