SxSW 2009 Preview: Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson

Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson is bloody brilliant if we do say so ourselves and we can't wait to check him out at this year's SxSW Festival.

Before he takes to the stage, we deemed it a necessity to catch up with him and see how he felt about his upcoming performance at this years Festival. Here's what the man himself had to say.

1) How many times have you been to SxSW?

None.

2) What's the best thing about being in Austin? or if you've not been before.... What are your tourism related plans?

I am a great lover of both barbecued meats and tequila.  I have been told Austin has both in great abundance.

3) Why are you playing SxSW? (Cos we hear the money isn't too good)

I have trouble saying no.

4) Who are you showcasing for, and where and when can we expect to see you?

I think I'm playing a Transgressive showcase and a party for Schuba's(a club in Chicago i like alot)...

5) Which other bands/artists are you most looking forward to seeing over music week?

I look forward to drinking beers outside with the members of Grizzly Bear because it has been too cold to drink beers outside in Brooklyn for months.  I'm also really looking forward to the secret U2 show.

6) Will you visit the Film or Interactive sections of SxSW this year? Or is time tight? 

Do they have a Virtual Reality tent? Remember when everything was gonna be all virtual reality and the physical world was gonna become obsolete cuz we were all just gonna be hooked up to our sweet VR machines from birth?  Too bad it turned out to be more like World of Warcraft.  Nerds.

7) What does the rest of 2009 hold for you? 

Fixing the national and world economies, getting better at the internet. Touring the UK behind an album i recorded the years ago while attempting to release an album in the US that i recorded one year ago.  Generally continuing to work on my posthumous greatest-hits collection and it's accompanying DVD.
