Have you ever wondered what happened to former Secret Machines member Benjamin Curtis? Here's your answer: he left his brother to shack up with identical twin sisters and further shoegaze/dream-pop wanderings.

The 'identical' part of the deal was somewhat lost on us in concert, mostly because keyboardist Alejandra Deheza remained 85% obscured by hair during her performance. Sister Claudia fared a little better, holding an obscurantism percentage of less than 20%.

There wasn't quite enough evidence on display tonight to resolutely prove that Curtis made the right musical decision in abandoning his sibling. Maybe further investigation of their album Alpinisms might put the case to rest.

I have been following the Deheza twins since they were in On! Air! Library! (smitten? sure!) School of Seven Bells put on a great show when they were last in SF.
