They say a picture paints a thousand words. A valid expression until you try to hand in a 10,000 word essay with ten crudely drawn doodles of the lecturer getting run over by a monster truck with pink fuzzy die in the window.
Well, you have sixteen photos here, that's good for 16,000 words. They'd have probably been a bit dull anyway. The words, that is, not the band. They were awesome.
Beach Ball Rating*: Beirut in Brighton, eh? We'll bounce to that. We almost feel like we're ruining the alter-chronistic ambiance set by the ensemble's newsies look and olden-days sound with our plastic presence. But the persistent avant-optimism of the music assures us that if we're happy, they're happy, and we're quite content with Fanfarlo's cosy-retrograde, futuristic-familiar performance.
*We brought the Strangeglue signature beach balls out for their 2009 début at Loop. We thought how much fun they had at each show was a fair metric to share.
