There's much of an electronics theme here tonight. To get to Enter Shikari one must walk through the X-Box 360 tent complete with guests showing off their skills on Rock Band.
Just next door though, an actual rock band are about to play. An ever polarising presence in their native England, Enter Shikari's mix of rave and trance with hardcore is equally loved and derided. Such naysayers are not present tonight and it's clear that the Americans are soon to be lapping them up in equal measure.
Kinetic is one word that could be used to describe the band's performance. Frontman Rou Reynolds looks at every object on stage as an opportunity. Immediately hurling himself up the speaker stacks he then proceeds to spend 30 seconds hanging from the rafters. One 10ft drop later and he's in with the crowd, alternating the microphone action with the crowd, letting the fans test the limits of the sound system.
Their main enemy tonight was the fragility of their equipment. Reynolds goes through microphones faster than someone with explosive diarrhoea goes through toilet roll. By the last song, all the issues seem resolved. How they had enough energy to get to this point though, is completely beyond us.

I've only seen ES 4 times, twice in Leeds, and once each in Glasgow and London.
They are a fantastic band, their live shows are full of energy and passion.
I like a wide range of music from Beethoven to Brand New, Dvorak to Dredg, and from Joni Mitchell to The Used, but ES surpass all post 1945 bands. That's the year I was born.
I caught the boys @ the UK HQ Latitude30 for a last minute show. No matter what the circumstances are, ES do what they do very well.

Iv now seen ENter SHikari 7 times in the space of 6 months. 2 festival shows, 2 in glasgow, 2 in London and one in Nottingham England.
The bands live show has me hooked, and the community within their fans, particularly on the forum is one Iv yet to match.
Iv been to see in excess of 200 bands and I can say that although Hendrix didnt do the music, nor Shakespeare the lyrics, their overall sound and performance is DEFINETLY in my top 5 bands.
They are a must see, and their debut album fuses so much happiness, angst and passion.
