It's hard to believe that The Coral have quietly slipped into the realm of a veteran six album band in an impressively succinct eight years.
Tonight the band demonstrated that their repertoire is deceptively full although the band does trade heavily on its material from its début eponymous album.
The venue, complete with all the trappings of art deco era excess was a fine metaphor for the band's rich and often intriguing musical journeys although what it gained in setting it lost a little in the stagnation of the seated audience.
Stand-out songs were the always impeccable Simon Diamond and Goodbye. Crowd favourites were 'Pass it On' and 'Dreaming of You' whilst the new material, receiving its public unveiling met with a mixed reception, though title track Butterfly House was an obvious highlight.
