His record might not have set our pulses alight earlier this year, but M. Ward's cover of the Buddy Holly song 'Rave On' was a highlight from his record Hold Time, which reached our shores back in February.

'Rave On' is becoming the choice of coverees right now, with Bruce Springsteen, Status Quo and Steeleye Span all taking a shine to it over the years.

The song is also responsible for one half of the band name the Raveonettes.

This video features the animation of British director, Mikey Please, and also the backing vocals of She and Him's, soon to be Mrs. Gibbard.
