After a rather wonderful cover of Animal Collective's 'Merriweather Post Pavilion' highlight My Girls, Taken By Trees aka Victoria Bergsmen didn't want to stop there.
She loved the track so much that she decided to take it for herself, swap the sex in the title and change around the original tracks frantic wonder for something a little more relaxed and stretched out.
Set to a sun-dappled-forest-tight-rope session (mines booked in for next week) Miss Bergsmen hypnotises with her gentle, airy vocalism (the very same voice that used to make Swedish indie-pop collective The Concretes so wonderfully easy to listen to) and the comforting musicality doesn't stop there.
The xylophone-esque rhythm and simple almost accordion melody work wonders together, spiralling upward and downward gently, hand-claps applauding quietly the entire time. Sure it could be classed as 'simple', 'poppy' and downright 'sugary' but you know, sometimes that really doesn't 'matter'.
The song is taken from her newest record East Of Eden, released just a few weeks back. Check it out and let us know what you thought.
