If you haven't heard of Spike Jonze's new film adaption of the legendary Maurice Sendak children's book 'Where The Wild Things Are' then, apart from possibly living under a rock/in a cave/cupboard/box/bubble, you also happen to be missing out on one of the most promising movies of this year.

First and foremost, the two trailers can be seen so quickly play catch-up if needed and we'll continue.

The official soundtrack for the film has just been confirmed and though we already knew Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's was behind it all, we didn't expect it to end up looking this great.

Under the name Karen O and the Kids (the kids being Bradford Cox of Deerhunter and Atlas Sound and Imad Waasif) the front-woman managed to get Jack Lawrence and Dean Fertita of The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, fellow YYY's band members Brian Chase and Nick Zinner, Greg Kurstin of The Bird and the Bee's, Aaron Hemphill of Liars , a children's choir and a host more to feature on the soundtrack and she's even said to have composed it and co-produced it as well.

The OST is due on September 27th via DGC/Interscope whilst the actual film is due here in the UK on December 11th. Those luck North American fiends get it nearly two months earlier on October 16th.

The above photo is the official artwork for the soundtrack's first single titled All Is Love which is due on August 25th.
