Support new music: choose from our favourite new albums this month.

"Don't want your job at Starbucks, don't want your job at Starbucks," who didn't love that song. Sure, we shouldn't have taken pains to hum it every time we were getting served coffee, but you live and learn.

A's Jason Perry makes something of a return to the music world this week, making an appearance from Welsh outfit The Blackout's new album. Also making a return is the knight of the underworld himself Marilyn Manson. We can't be the only ones who think he's gone soft lately. We listened to his new album, we felt compeletely uncompelled to sacrifice any kittens afterwards: we actually helped an old lady across the road.

The original members of Simple Minds tried to reform in June of 2008 before reverting to their current line-up. They later revealed that they managed to last 30 minutes in the same room as each other. It sounds impressive but they did watch an episode of Last of the Summer Wine and make a pop-tart before they started.

Grizzly Bear: Veckatimest

The Veckatimest  has already picked up absolutely astonishing reviews from accross the board, we didn't expect the New York based quartet to top their critically acclaimed 2006 sophomore Yellow House mainly because we didn't think it was possible. I'm sure this will popping up again towards the end of the year as one of the best albums from 2009.

Fink: Sort Of Revolution

Fink is sort of a gem from this weeks album releases, however we're sure he's flown under the radar of most, and that's no surprise. This will be the Fink's second album on Ninja Tune Records after a rather modest first album which received minimal amounts of publicity. He will be leaving his home town in Brighton this week for a short support tour with Gomez. This is not Finch!

Marilyn Manson: High End of Low

Marilyn Manson announced his seventh album High End Of Low in 2008 during his infamous Rape of the World Tour. Kerry Kind of Slayer and Nick Zinner from Yeah Yeah Yeahs both feature on the album, however, original plans for contributions from Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Lha fell through.

James Blackshaw: Glass Bead Game

All of Mr. Blackshaw's past three albums have thrilled the music critics, each has been a stepping stone towards the publicity that he deserves. From the first listen it's obvious that Glass Bead Game will undoubtedly progress the London solo artist to new heights,

Scott Matthews: Elsewhere

Scott Matthews has been compared to the illustrious Jeff Buckley, and we'd agree. Scott released his début Passing Stranger a few years back which included the radio hit Elusive, a song that you've probably heard and enjoyed. Elsewhere is most definitely an album to pick up this week.

Phoenix: Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix

French pop rockers Pheonix started as a backing band for an Air remix in 2000, since then we've heard three intriguing albums from the four chaps. One single Lisztomania has already been released from the ten tracks which has already received huge amounts of

Simple Minds: Graffiti Soul

Simple Minds returned to the Welsh Rockfield  studios for the first time in thirty years to record their 16th album Graffiti Soul. The album was written in many different countries from Sicily to Antwerp and will also be released in a deluxe version with a bonus cover album.

Devin Townsend: KI

KI is the first album of four planned in The Devin Townsend Project to be release on his independent label Hevy Devy Records. Townsend  went on hiatus back in 2006 followed by a year spent discovering himself and no doubt seeking inspiration for his coming series.

Oceana: Birth Eater

Oceana are a five piece post-hardcore band from Florida who formed not long ago in '07. They're now releasing a second album charmingly named Birth Eater which also includes songs The Family Disease, The Abortion Plan and The Spine Collection. Lovely!

The Blackout: Best In Town

The Blackout split from Fierce Panda in 2008 after the release of their first full length album We Are The Dynamite, this lead on to the Welsh collective signing a deal with Epitaph in February '09. Epitaph will be releasing their second full length which unfortunately features Jason Perry from A.
