Support new music: choose from our favourite new albums this month.
Apple will likely be making an announcement later today about the future of the iPhone.
Some analysts are expecting a revamp of the smart-phone, whereas others are merely predicting an updated software package to run the phone which might see features such as video-recording, MMS messaging, system-wide cut and paste, background applications and numerous other features already familiar to those who know what the word "jailbreak" means.
So what about music lovers? The biggest hole in the iPhone's bow is the inability to browse for new music. MySpace, Purevolume and their ilk are all unavailable through the Safari interface (which lacks support for Flash player) and is likely to weigh down the phone as a solid gold device until it is rectified. Yes, we do realise that solid gold is heavy too, it's called a mixed metaphor!
Of course, an improved - stereo - speaker would be nice as well. As much as we enjoy Times New Viking, we're not sure that every band suits their production style as well.
We would complain about the fact that you have to pay extra to use a song you already own into a ringtone, but we circumvented that little roadblock within 5 minutes of the iPhone landing in the Strange Glue offices, and we have no problem with taxing the stupid: just look at the National Lottery.
Sound off below...
As much as i hate flash, it's become a necessity really on the modern internet.
I hope there's a copy/paste feature too.
I for one cant understand why it has taken Apple so long to have some of the features that are in 3.0 ie copy/paste etc released I not intrested in a new phone like most people.
Flash in Safari, Cut and Paste, Task Sync from Entourage/Outlook, Landscape typing for fat fingers....please Mr Jobs make us happy!!!
Just wish they would hurry up and release 3.0 !
