Asobi Seksu Talk On Third Album, Plan Huge Tour

Asobi Seksu's third album Hush is due out on February 17th and recently, the band have spoke out about the writing process and internal struggles during the recording:

"Hush was written while we felt destroyed. Our last record was done under such stressful conditions, especially given the time constraints, so there was not as much room to try out everything that we wanted to."

The band explained that these were the reasons why they were abandoning the shoegaze-pop genre that their first and second album Asobi Seksu and Citrus were so well known and acclaimed for, instead taking a deeper but more stripped down route with their music.

Describing your own music is probably never that easy but nevertheless Asobi managed to give a few vague quips, some of which include “dew-draped riffs" and “spiral staircase melodies" with a “phoenix rising vibe”. Nice attempt anyway...

The band are also set to embark on a mammoh European and US Tour to promote the album that runs from early Feb through to their last date at the beginning of April. Luckily, the band manage to hit the SxSW Festival in Texas for all three days so if you've got a ticket then we recommend checking them out.
