A7X drummer Jimmy Sullivan ended the band's year with sadness as he passed away at the depressingly young age of 28.

Sullivan had been a founding member of the alternative metal group and had played with them since their inception back in 1999. He died at his home in Huntington Beach, southern California on Monday, December 28, 2009. The cause was listed as 'natural causes' until a full autopsy has been conducted.

He is survived by his wife Leana MacFadden.

The band quickly issued a statement concerning the tragic news: "It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we tell you of the passing today of Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan. Jimmy was not only one of the world's best drummers, but more importantly he was our best friend and brother. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy's family and we hope that you will respect their privacy during this difficult time. Jimmy you are forever in our hearts. We love you."

Just eight weeks earlier, the world lost former !!! drummer Gerhardt Fuchs after he fell down a lift shaft on November 8, 2009. He was just 34-years-old at the time. Drummers beware it seems.
