Inception might be the best movie you see all year, but we seriously doubt anything will compare to the DVD release of Boredoms' 77 drummer ensemble hammering their drum-kits in unison.
On July 7th, 2007 at 7:07 PM, Japanese group Boredoms, orchestrated a performance by 77 drummers at the Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park in Brooklyn, with the picturesque Brooklyn Bridge setting the perfect background.Thankfully someone caught the escapade on film and Thrill Jockey Records are bringing out the DVD in September. "77 Boadrum" is the official live performance documentary of the event, complete with behind the scenes rehearsal footage, interviews, and of course, lots of footage of the actual performance. The band recently played at Matt Groening's ATP festival with a host of drummers, but this performance is simply spectacular.
