Caralee McElroy Departs With Xiu Xiu

In a post on the bands website, Caralee McElroy, multi-instrumentalist for Xiu Xiu announced her decision to leave the band.

The post read like this:

"I have decided to stop playing in Xiu Xiu for personal reasons. Thank you to everyone who has supported me in the last 5 years. Xiu Xiu is an important and amazing band and will continue to be."

Short but sweet is apparently the dish of the day.

Though information on the departing is still thin, we do know that the band are planning to release a new album next year by the name of Dear God, I Hate Myself. Whether McElroy was involved in any of the writing or creating processes of the upcoming album isn't known as of yet so we guess it's just one of those 'wait and find out' processes.
