Support new music: choose from our favourite new albums this month.
There are likely around thirty-two pithy ways of phrasing this news, but that doesn't change the fact that The Clientele's new album will be called Bonfires on the Heath.
Nor will it shift the album's release date of October 6 via Merge Records.
Included within Bonfires' twelve tracks will be two cover versions. One is of Sweden's Emelie Berg - also known as Evergreen Days. They will be covering her song "Tonight". The other is themselves. "Graven Wood" will be rejigged and included in the new album.
The band's lead singer Alasdair MacLean told Pitchfork of the album, "It's more full of ghosts and doubts and signs and wonders than any other Clientele record. It's very spooky and tremendously sad at times. It's about watching yourself disappear."
