Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band have announced plans for a second album to succeed last year's infinitely enjoyable self-titled record.
The new album is called Outer South, and will be released via Merge Records on May 5th in the U.S, with European punters still awaiting confirmation of when they can get their paws on the record.
Outer South we're told, was laid down at Sonic Ranch Studios in Tornillio, outside El Paso, Texas late last year and features the same musicians (Taylor Hollingsworth, Nik Freitas, Macey Taylor, Nathaniel Walcott and Jason Boesel) as were present on last year's acclaimed Conor Oberst album.
Encompassing a mammoth sixteen tracks, Outer South has already been previewed on Conan O'Brien's show in the U.S.
Here below, is one of those performances, 'Nikorette', which will be one of those sixteen songs:
Conor and his buddies will also be touring the States this Spring, including a stopover at the California's Coachella Festival in April.
