Over the past month, details on the upcoming Corin Tucker album have started to emerge like a Max Clifford-orchestrated tabloid story.
We now have the artwork and a tracklist for the hugely anticipated record which is officially an album from The Corin Tucker Band, featuring Sara Lund of Unwound and Seth Lorinczi of Golden Bears. The name of the record is '1000 Years', and the artwork is shown above. Some of the tracks on 1,000 Years were written initially for the Twilight: New Moon soundtrack. Frankly, we're quite pleased that they didn't make the cut. “They didn’t work for the movie, but I kept them anyway,” Tucker says in a statement. “The themes work exactly. The monsters, beasts and demons, all those things working on you. I think there’s a lot of personal angst in that story.”The press release implies the record won't sound like your average Sleater-Kinney record, with a promise of "acoustic guitars, keyboards, interlocking percussion, even cellos and violins."Good thing or bad thing? I guess we'll have to wait 'til October 5.1,000 Years drops Oct. 5 on Kill Rock Stars. The band head to the American West Coast for a brief tour in conjunction with the release of the album.
