The rock world's most well-known groupie has revealed her plans to start using the 'Hole' name again, despite her new record not actually featuring the other members of the band in their full glory.
The only contribution from a former member will come in the form of Melissa auf der Maur, who will be providing scant backing vocals to the project. Founding member Eric Erlandson will not return in any capacity whatsoever.
The new "Hole" album instead will be primarily a collaboration between Love and former Larrikin Love (we're sure it's a coincidence) guitarist Micko Larkin. She said of the project, "It's huge, like a big, fist-shaped hole. The rock Courtney didn't really go away, but I needed a rock partner. I have my rock partner now."
The new album, entitled Nobody's Daughter, will be released around the winter of 2009/10. It will be the first album using the 'Hole' name in more than eleven years.
No news on Dave Grohl doing the new Nirvana album yet, but stay tuned...
