Support new music: choose from our favourite new albums this month.

The rather arty punk and rock band from San Jose have a brand new album lined up for next year. Xiu Xiu have circled February 23, 2010 as the optimal jettison date for their brand new album Dear God, I Hate Myself.

The band will be joined for the record by a shiny and new full-time member for the collective. Angela Seo will be handling key-based instruments, as well as drum programming and sequencing.

As if the band weren't wilfully eccentric enough, they've also seen fit to compose four songs from the album primarily on the Nintendo DS hand-held games system. The title track will be one of the four.
