Who would've thought back in 2001 when Elbow's beautiful debut record 'Asleep In The Back' came out, that eight years later they'd be as huge and as dominating as they are now? Not us.
Marking the band's last date of the year (before they hole themselves up again to record the follow-up to last year's flawless The Seldom Seen Kid) the Mercury Prize award winners will play in their hometown of Manchester at none other than the huge MEN Arena on September 18th.
Front-man Guy Garvey spoke out about the giant arena gig, saying:
"It's been a brilliant couple of years if, at times, a bit frantic and occasionally bizarre. To finish with a home town show is the perfect end to a perfect year."
We can imagine Mr Garvey, we can imagine. Anyway, tickets go on sale as of this Friday (May 1st) at 9am and even though it's a huge venue, we'd still recommend on getting your ticket as early as possible as we can see them going pretty damn quickly.
So remember; Manchester MEN Arena, September 18th, Elbow, tickets on sale May 1st at 9am.
We hope to see you there !
