The band incarnation of Franz Ferdinand surprised a small contingent of Mancunians on Saturday (Oct 17) by playing a surprise acoustic show.
Those assembled were gathered for the Mrs Boon's Tea Party at The Ruby Lounge in Manchester, hosted by Inspiral Carpets' Clint Boon and his wife Charlie.
Just one-hundred-and-fifty people were present when Boon announced that the surprise guests for the evening were Alez Kapranos and Steve McCarthy. The duo played a whole host of tracks spanning the band's history.
"I loved it, what a fantastic atmosphere," Kapranos said. "It reminded me of a matinee gig we did a few years ago at Barrowlands in Glasgow where adults were only allowed in if they were accompanied by a child, it was a similar vibe."
They played 'Do You Want To', 'Walk Away', 'Take Me Out', 'No You Girls', 'The Dark Of The Matinee' and 'Ulysses' before joining the audience in light conversation and confectioneries, before jetting off to their sold-out gig at the Manchester Apollo.
