Manchester's Jim Noir would be close to releasing his third studio album if it wasn't for the fact he'd decided to split an album's worth of material into two EPs.

Nevertheless, one of the EPs - 'Melody Junction' is ready now as a free download on the Jim Noir website, with the other following on vinyl shortly.

"The 4 track is the remnants of an album that got dropped on the floor and couldn’t be worked on anymore, he said.

"As I started writing more new stuff it seemed to not really sound like what I was doing last year, so I’ve decided to give these away and make people buy the fresh bits. Not to diss my own work, but the reason they are free is because I just think the six track EP is much better."

The second EP, titled 'Zooper Dooper', will be available only on vinyl.
