Support new music: choose from our favourite new albums this month.
Los-Angeles collective Local Natives have officially signed to 'Frenchkiss Records' and will subsequently release their début album through the imprint next year in the North America (lucky for us, it's already out here in the UK).
The independent New York-based label was founded by Syd Butler, bassist for Les Savy Fav (who now release all records through the label) and currently house Passion Pit, The Antlers and The Dodos amongst others.
The band's very first L.P Gorilla Minor (which we reviewed earlier in November) will be released through Frenchkiss on February 16th in the US so if you haven't managed to hear it yet and live Stateside then worry not; the Local Natives are coming your way in 2010.
If you're a fan of the Local Natives, you can catch them at the Camden Barfly this month, they're doing a gig for Sailor Jerry Rum. Found out about it here http://www.rivmixx.com/latest-headlines/win-tickets-for-local-natives-and-more/7690/1, check it out if you wanna go see them...I reckon I'll be hitting it up! Anyone else?
rivmixx are actually offering the chance to win tickets to see them, which i didn't realise at first!
