Although selling one hundred thousand tickets in the space of a few days is no small order, many have labelled this year's Glastonbury sales as somewhat of a failure. In response to the sluggish take-up, Michael Eavis will be re-opening registration, enabling a new pool of people to get hold of Glasto tickets.

From 16:00 today, fans will be able to submit their personal details and a passport sized photo. Successful applicants will then be able to purchase tickets via a direct link.

Organisers are hoping to sell the 37,000 tickets that remain in short order. "This will give them the chance to see the best line-up of any festival this summer", says Eavis. Many festival-goers are thinking the opposite however, whilst Glastonbury officials blame the run of bad weather for the lack of Glastothusiasm, many instead point to the rather mediocre headliners. The Verve, Kings of Leon and Jay-Z will close out the days of the festival.

Rumours are circulating that Jay-Z is deeply unhappy that his presence is becoming such a point of controversy, and that he is considering pulling out of the festival. Eavis has denied the claims and reasserted that Jay-Z will be headlining and that everything is "fine".

This year's Glastonbury will take place at Worthy Farm in Somerset from June 27th-29th. To register from 4pm onwards today (April 8) go here.

I think that this years failure for tickets is due to Jay Z is rubbish..!! i for one dont party at Glasto every year for the line ups..!! Yes its an advantage for great bands being there but Glasto is all about the experience.!!

You could party at Glasto from the Wednesday to Sunday without seeing any bands whats so ever and still have a fantstic experience..!!

Yes the mud is a pain to put up with but who cares??? If you are willing to sleep in a tent for half a week probably not even having a shower!! If you are willing to do that then sloppy mud and rain is no problem..!!

With all the previous mud and weather but still 100,000 tickets have still been sold then those people are true glastonbury warriors!! so for you 100,000 fans out there..!! I for one will see you soon, and know it will be a fantastic time..!!!

YEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAA..!!!
