When you think of Denmark, you perhaps get an image of brawling beer drinkers or maybe footballers who like to get a cheeky elbow to an opponents face when the ref isn't looking.
You wouldn't naturally associate Denmark as producers of quiet indie lullabies.
But Green Pitch aim to reverse any of your misconceptions with their second album 'Ace of Hearts'.
The first thing that came to our minds was that Rex Garfield, singer of Green Pitch sounds incredibly like Lene Marlin. But don't let that put you off. Lyrically and musically superior to their fellow Scandinavian, Green Pitch have an asset in Garfield who sings in a breathy, elegant style. Quiet, but full of strength.
Single, 'Reverse' is easily the standout track as it opens with a melodic, upbeat (in comparison to the rest of the album) melody, combining the voices of Garfield and partner Ste Rasch, over the top of an intertwining keyboard hook.
'Ace of Hearts' stripped down, is a very simple, dainty album.
So in some ways, quite a lot of you may consider Green Pitch to be a bit repetitive and dull, but in the case of 'Ace of Hearts' if you have a persevering attitude you will be rewarded.
