Former Hefner front-man Darren Hayman was parking his car following a concert in Nottingham when he was mugged and attacked.
He suffered a fractured skull during the assault for which he was admitted to hospital, although he was discharged last Monday night (Nov 16). The attack was unconnected to the concert he had just played at the city's Bodega venue and was described by his wife, Helen, as being a simple case of "wrong place at the wrong time".
She went on to further describe his prognosis saying, "There should be no long lasting damage, but he does have a linear
fracture in his skull (this is the best kind apparently!) which will
keep him fairly quiet for six weeks or so.
"He also has a head wound, a bit of bruising and a very nasty headache.
However, they have prescribed a terrifying amount of painkillers to
deal with this."
Hayman has released four studio albums since leaving Hefner, the latest being January's Pram Town, released through the Track & Field Organisation record label.
