Scottish indie rockers Idlewild will be spending the early part of 2009 in the studio, recording their follow-up to Make Another World and are inviting fans to join them from an early stage.

Anyone pre-ordering a copy of the album will receive a copy upon its completion, weeks before any official release. A free-of-charge downloadable version will also be theirs, as will exclusive packaging with at least bonus track. Next, the fan's name will appear in the CD booklet. But wait, there's more.

A credit for fifteen free tracks will be theirs which are redeemable against live recordings of the band's 'album by album' shows at King Tuts in Glasgow (taking place in December 2008). Finally closing the book on the pros column of pre-ordering is access to a members only section of the web site with album progress updates, exclusive photo and video content from the recording and pre-production process with diaries/blogs by individual band members and lots more.

After 11 years of recording and releasing records within the constraints of the record industry we now fee that the time is right and the technology exists for us to deal more quickly and directly with the fans. It also allows us total control of our music and will ultimately mean that should you choose to get involved you will hear our music as soon as it is available.
