With several festival dates and a high profile opening concert in Paris, you'd be forgiven for wondering who's going to actually turn up for the Smashing Pumpkins on 22nd May.
The Rolling Stone blog 'Rock & Roll Daily' has confirmed rumours previously reported here, that James Iha will have no part whatsoever in the reunion. "No, I'm not part of the current Smashing Pumpkins album or tour, I haven't spoken to Billy in years. I'm writing for a solo record, which I'm going to record this year, and working on my indie label Scratchie Records,".
'Scratchie' has put out albums by Albert Hammond Jr. and The Sounds, and has groups like 'Midnight Movies, 'The Sights' and 'Robbers On High Street' on its books.
So far we've had no confirmation who will partner Billy Corgan, although drummer Jimmy Chamberlin recently confirmed he'd been approached by Corgan.
