Interpol are currently working on the follow-up album to 2007's Our Love to Admire and they've given a slight indication as to the direction in which the album will travel.
Paul Banks - front-man and post-punk extraordinaire - revealed the band's plans during an interview with BBC 6 Music, he explained: "There's some really classical stuff going on. [Bassist] Carlos [Dengler] has gone to total new levels of crazy sophisticated orchestration.
"What we've worked on is a real step forward and just very different and very relaxed in what we're doing. It certainly doesn't sound like anything we've ever done before, to me."
Back in August of this year, Banks himself released a new album: his first solo album under the pseudonym Julian Plenti. The album is called Skyscraper.
