Arizonan pop-rock stalwarts Jimmy Eat World have come to the end of their contract with Interscope Records and are now free agents.

Despite the fact that they technically had one album left on their deal following 2007's Chase This Light, the band revealed that they are now back to being an unsigned entity.

This is unlikely to perturb either the band or fans of the band. Last year they spoke of their desire to self-release an album, something which echoes the birth of their breakthrough album Bleed American.

Following the release of Clarity, the boys were dropped by Capitol Records and thus set about recording their seminal album on their own dime, even producer Mark Trombino waved his upfront fee to help the band make their album. Consequently, they concocted the biggest hits of their careers.

Jimmy Eat World are currently in the stages of writing and recording their seventh studio album.
