Jurassic 5 after much speculation have decided to call it a day at the conclusion of their current tour.
The band interviewed before Australia's 'Good Vibrations' festival informed Australian TV that trouble was brewing between the band. And there were a few, sad, parting shots:
MC Soup (aka Zaakir): "People see us as a harmonising, loving group, but that's far from the truth. I'd like to keep it going, but you can't force grown men to do what they don't want to do. Some people may say it's a creative thing, but I'm not buying it. Some might say business, some might say merchandising, whatever, there's some really stupid shit - some really childish things - happening."
"After the tour, that's basically it. I don't want to sit here and fake around with it - we're not seeing eye-to-eye right now."
With the tour now complete, the bands management have confirmed that Soup's comments were not an idle threat and indeed, Jurassic 5 have gone their separate ways.
They reached the height of their career both critically and commercially when the group released 'Quality Control', their first release on a major label. They also had their fair share of problems, most notably when driving to the 'Warped' Tour, Nashville, Tennessee, their driver fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a ditch. Band member Chali 2na and two of his colleagues were hospitalized, with 2na sustaining the gravest injuries. His skull was fractured, requiring a metal plate be implanted in his head.
