Kaiser Chiefs Shelve U.S Tour

It seems like quite the fashionable thing these days, to announce a tour and then cancel it. Kaiser Chiefs are the latest band pulling the plug, this time on the majority of their U.S tour.

They've put out a statement apologising to fans for the cancellations, saying the group needed to spend more time recording the follow up to 'Yours Truly, Angry Mob'.

They said: "We'd like to apologise to fans who have already bought tickets, but something had to give. We've had no time to focus on the future this year, and we plan to have new material out as soon as possible. We feel the need to record before our European & UK shows at the end of the year so we can play a few of our new songs live, so we're headed back into the rehearsal studio to begin that process this month and have shortened our US tour to just these shows below to find the time for that."

The headline slot at the Austin City Limits Festival will still go ahead as planned, as will the shows in Mexico City and New York.

But the rest, have all been cancelled which consist of the shows in Detroit, Dallas, Toronto, Nashville, Houston and Atlanta. Tickets are fully refundable from the point of purchase.
