West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum was a mental institution built in the 1800's in West Yorkshire, England and housed the "mentally-poor". It was later changed to the High Royds Psychiatric Hospital and was then shut down back in 2003.
Kasabian, being the indie-rock beasts that they are, have decided to call their third album by the institutes original name and thus, West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum is the official title of their upcoming LP. Better than Sams Town though isn't it?
The record still doesn't have a track listing as yet but we do know that one track West Ryder Silver Bullet, lifts part of its name from the albums title. The record follows up the groups 2007 acclaimed effort Empire.
HMV says the record (which was recorded in San Francisco) will be out June 8th but there's no official date as yet so keep checking back for more news as the weeks progress.
