LCD Soundsystem have revealed that they will play their final show ever on April 2, at New York City's Madison Square Garden.
James Murphy had promised all and sundry that the release of their 2010 album 'This Is Happening' would conclude the LCD train for good.
However, they'll go out with a bang. The group has posted a statement on their official website, announcing plans to perform one final, marathon hometown set, with certain conditions of attire:
"Good people of earth:
LCD Soundsystem are playing Madison Square Garden on April 2nd, and it will be our last show ever. we are retiring from the game. gettin’ out. movin’ on. but for just one more night, we will be playing with friends and family for nearly 3 hours–playing stuff we’ve never played before and going out with a bang. and we’d like you to be there.
If you would, we’d love it if people all came in white. or black. or black and white. and come ready to have fun, please. and come early, as the festivities will be opened by our favorites, Liquid Liquid. yes: liquid liquid.
If it’s a funeral, let’s have the best funeral ever!!!"
Tickets officially go on general sale here on February 11th, however there is a pre-sale planned for midweek, meaning the likelihood of you getting tickets on general sale are slim to non-existent.
Check back on this page on February 8th for details or the LCD website.
