Leeds Festival 2008 - Saturday In Pictures

25th August 2008 | by Ross Riley

Day two of the Leeds festival and everything was building up to the headline slot from Rage Against the Machine.

In the afternoon the main stage had appearances from the remnants of Taking Back Sunday, there was also Dizee Rascal, Serj Tankian and then an excellent set by Scotish legends Biffy Clyro.

One of our highlights over on the Lock Up Stage was a mid afternoon performance by Frank Turner, the tent was full and everyone was singing along for one of those perfect festival moments.

Later in the day MGMT and Vampire Weekend played to a packed NME tent but sealing their meteoric rise this year, The Wombats played to a jam packed tent and set the night on fire.

Then it was over to the main stage for Rage. We're not sure whether Pete Doherty turned up, if he did there was probably noone there. Rage Against The Machine performed a stunning set in front of an electrified crowd to finish up an excellent Saturday at Leeds.
