The year 2008 will go down as one of the finest year's for modern music output - yet 2009 is already looking like an absolute corker.
Yesterday's announcement of a new Decemberists' album, is swiftly followed by news of M. Ward's latest effort, titled 'Hold Time', which is promised for February 2009.
Paste Magazine garnered the scoop, which also includes news on a tie up with My Morning Jacket frontman, Jim James, and Mr. Bright Eyes - Conor Oberst, albeit the record probably wont see the light of day until 2010.
Ward had this to say about his latest solo LP: “”I just finished a record that's going to be out in February, it's called Hold Time. I'm excited for people to hear it. I tried a new balance on this new record. It's a little hard to explain. There's a lot of really big and heavy sounds that I attempted to balance with sounds that you can find in any guitar shop."
All we need now in 2009 is a new record from the Pixies.
