New Order's Bernard Sumner - in case you didn't know - has a new band known by the name of Bad Lieutenant.

What you probably won't know is that the collective have announced their intention to play three live shows in the United Kingdom.

Brighton, Manchester and London will each call the band their own for one night only come October.

The group also features New Order's former guitarist Phil Cunningham. Although Blur's Alex James features on the band's forthcoming début album - Never Cry Another Tear: October 5, 2009 release - he will not be joining the band on stage for the gigs.

The three dates are:

Oct 20 - Brighton @ Digital
Oct 21 - London @ Heaven
Oct 22 - Manchester @ Ritz
