Support new music: choose from our favourite new albums this month.

Jack and Meg have finished mixing and recording of their next album. "Icky Thump" is expected to hit stores in the early part of the summer.

On their website, the duo confirmed six of the songs that would appear on the new album, recorded at the Blackbird Studio in Nashville, Jack White's adopted home town.

They noted: "We are doing our best (whatever that is) to release the album as soon as coporately possible.

"And though we are tired, worn, weary, hungry, cold and left without an ounce of nutrition between ourselves, we are in the midst of planning performance type shows around the world."

The six songs announced thus far are as follows:

'Catch Hell Blues'
'Little Cream Soda'
'Rag And Bone'
'Clicky Bump'
'You Dont Know What Love Is' (Just Do As Youre Told)
'Im Slowly Turning Into You'

Expect a summer release, to coincide with White Stripes festival dates. "Icky Thump" is the first release on the Warner Brothers label after V2's collapse earlier this year.
