Whilst most bands at the moment are beating a hasty retreat from anything vaguely resembling a record label, Oasis look as though they may be bucking the trend.
The band have been fairly quiet since the 2005 release, 'Don't Believe the Truth' but in a deal with Sony BMG they have agreed to release a further three albums starting with the follow-up which is slated to appear later this year.
Talking about the deal, Sony BMG's UK CEO said: "Oasis are in complete control of their destiny and could have chosen to sign with anyone, or even go it alone, so I am delighted that they have chosen to continue to work with us."
Since their original label, Creation was wound up Oasis have released material via their own 'Big Brother' label, whilst this setup will continue the deal allows Sony BMG to add its expertise in exchange for a profit share on the next three albums.
