Prefuse 73 AKA Guillermo Scott Herren is a musical genius in his own right and now, he's gathering a fair few other respected names for a new project.

Bringing together himself, Zach Hill, John McEntire of Tortoise, Tyondai Braxton of Battles, Benjamin Curtis and Alejandra Deheza of School Of Seven Bells and Eva Muns of Savath & Savalas, the giant collective of awesome have titled themselves Risil.

Their first record of a planned three goes by the name of Non Meters Volume 1 and is due on the Important label on July 23rd. According to a blog on the bands Myspace page (which you can check HERE) the line-up of the group will change album by album:

The next following two volumes include different collaborators and many of the same...

The reason for the separate volumes is based on many factors - one being that this would have to be a box set if it wasn't separated based on which songs make sense on one full length record. Other decisions are based on production, location, time, etc....

Meaning that the 3 volumes sounds vary but will all make sense on the final full length comprised of the chosen favorites from everyone and recorded+mixed all at one time. Either way, it's fun for the whole family. In the meantime, there are e.p.s + 7"s that will pop up as well.

July couldn't come quick enough.

You can check the upcoming LP's artwork and track-listing just below.
