Atlanta, Georgia musician Vic Chesnutt passed away on Christmas Day after slipping into a coma on Christmas Eve.
The fourty-five year old musician was wheelchair bound since he was eighteen after a car-crash in 1983 rendered him a quadriplegic. He gained feeling back in hands over the course of his life and released a starling seventeen L.P's during his musical career.
His label Constellation Records released this statement, confirming the news:
"In the few short years that we knew him personally, Vic transformed our sense of what true character, grace and determination are all about. Our grief is inexpressible and Vic's absence unfathomable."
A public memorial service was held on December 27th in his home town of Atlanta with a private service taking place later that day.
All of us here at SG would like to send his family and friends our deepest condolences.
