It's been just one year since the release of Rolo Tomassi's impressive debut album Hysterics. Now we have word that the band have escaped to Los Angeles to record their second album with US producer Diplo.
The story of the meet up goes like this: "When the band played at the SXSW event in Austin, Texas earlier this year, Rolo Tomassi were approached by Diplo, who was a fan and had been recommending them in interviews for Pitchfork, The Guardian etc."
Diplo has notably recorded MIA, Santogold and Bonde Do Role as well as remixed artists from Kanye West to Daft Punk and Radiohead. He also runs the Mad Decent label and blog in the US, which is a collective of exciting new artists.
The album will be released in March 2010 on Hassle Records in the UK and across Europe
They will also then embark on an exciting tour of the UK, news of which will be revealed shortly. This follows tours this year with The Bronx, Fucked Up, Gallows, Grammatics and Pulled Apart By Horses as well as a raft of European festivals including Pukkelpop, Lowlands and Sonisphere.
They will also continue to run their successful 7” singles club through Hassle, which this year included splits with Cancer Bats and Throats as well as a number of remixes and acoustic tracks.
