Ever fancied yourself as an ethereal Icelandic siren? On the rare off-chance that is the case, Sigur Ros have invited fans to submit their own cover/karaoke versions of "Gobbledigook".
First off you'll have to head over and download the instrumental version of the track, newly stripped of its lead vocals. As the band say, "All we ask is that you supply your own rendition of this free-spirited branch of Sigur Ros's development. No holds barred. The only thing to fear is fear itself, etc, etc."
There will be a signed copy of the Special Edition of "Mea sua i eyrum via spilum endalaust" to the entry chosen as the band's favoured interpretation. They reiterate that this will not necessarily be the most technically proficient entry, so no matter what your experience, enter away.
For further details, reposition your browser to the competition page on YouTube.
All of this is in honour of the release of the first single from the band's highly acclaimed new album. The song "Inni mer syngur vitleysingur" will be available as a two-track download and CD (UK only) via SigurRos.com, with the exclusive b-side "Heima" featuring on both formats. The download will be offered as both tracks for the price of one.
Finally, if you're in the United States at the moment, ensure to schedule yourself down for one of the upcoming live shows by the band. (preferably not one of the sold-out gigs)
