Slipknot Cancel Leeds & Reading Festival Shows

21st August 2008 | by Gavin Riley

Slipknot have pulled out of their dual appearances at the Reading & Leeds Festival due to take place this weekend.

Drummer Joey Jordison has broken his ankle, resulting in a host of other European dates now getting the chop too.

In a statement, the band said the cancellation was “with huge regret and disappointment”.

“Cancelling shows is never an easy decision and we apologize to all our fans, friends and family for not being there to throw down with you,” they added.

The Iowan outfit release their new album, 'All Hope Is Gone' on Monday. The band also have an arena tour booked for December, by which time all injuries should have healed.
