Support new music: choose from our favourite new albums this month.

Back in 2001, alternative baroque-folk-indie-pop troubadour Sufjan Stevens gave us the album Enjoy Your Rabbit, now it's time for something of an update.

Based on the Chinese zodiac, the album was an electronic release. Flashforward to 2009 and change the name to Run Rabbit Run. Now rope in string quartet Osso and a host of compositional guests and we have an album of electronic songs completely re-arranged for classical instruments.

The project is chiefly the work of Stevens' friend, Bryce Dessner. The live musicians will be reproducing every single blip, bleep and BSOD with the aid of their more conventional instrumentation. Amongst the composers having a stab at the songs will be Michael Atkinson, Olivier Manchon, Maxim Moston, Nico Muhly, and Gabriel Kahane.

The U.K will get to see this album on November 9, 2009 via the Asthmatic Kitty label.
