One of the bands playing at SxSW this year that are generating a deserved buzz are Crystal Castles.

As usual, buzz can be measured by the number of photographers who are present at the start of the show, and timely disappear shortly after they've got their shot.

In the case of Crystal Castles, who play in the main room at Emo's, the venue is swarming with photographers. And in the case of vocalist Alice Glass, they have a subject who is a both a photgrapher's dream and nightmare.

Constantly bouncing about the stage, Glass is in imperious form. Strutting across the stage, Glass showed no ill effects from the car crash that forced the cancellation of a few shows earlier this month.

'Crimewave' and 'Untrust Us' were two of the songs lapped up by the audience in a very short 5-song set, before both Ethan Kath and Glass curiously disappeared, not to come back.

It was a storming hit and run performance by Crystal Castles, bringing much needed energy and dynamism to the fore.

And with the debut album out next week, the Crystal Castles buzz is every bit worthy.

Awesome photo's, awesome band.

Is she hot or scarily like one of those leather clad, bowl haircut Martians from Galaxy Quest? I'm undecided.

I luv Crystal Castles, and she is scarily hot, but one thing that pisss me off about them is that they quite often play just 20 minute sets. Great if they're supporting, but i travelled 60 miles to go see them last time for just five songs.

Someone needs to have a word in their ears!
