On Wednesday night in Austin, the night had started to come alive. 5th Street, home to many of the venues was awash with music fans and the festival was in full flow.

If you were prepared to venture a little further though there were many rewards to be had. First up was a trip to Antone's one of the more distant venues but one packed with a knowledgeable and enthusiastic audience.

Sons & Daughters filled the 11 till 12 slot with an abrasive and confident set, mainly taken from their recent Domino Records release 'This Gift'.

Singer Adele Bethel performed with her usual mix of personality and energy, excellent versions of 'Gilt Complex' and for the completists in the audience a stunning cover of Bis' late nineties track 'Kill Your Boyfriend' this was a gem of a show that lit up Antone's ready for the arrival of The Kills.
