SxSW 2009 Live: Arkells
Support new music: choose from our favourite new albums this month.
Suitably bloated from our free BBQ and free drinks, some guy from Canadian Radio assured us that Arkells were one of the best upcoming bands from Canada.
After name checking Tokyo Police Club as their biggest fans, their pedigree was not to be questioned. And from their first note, they didn't disappoint.
Defiantly more rock than indie, Arkells certainly have a blues twinge in their blistering up-tempo riffs. And with the band set to play at this year's Great Escape Festival in Brighton, you certainly will hear plenty more from these fine people.
