They're a band that have divided opinion here at Strange Glue, are they great or just good?

Well the argument will surely surface again with Domino's announcement it will re-release their debut album this May. Some might say rather cynically so, what with the hype beginning to catch fire on this year's Jack White-sponsored supergroup The Dead Weather, for which The Kills Alison Mosshart performs lead vocals.

Originally conceived by air-mailing demos to each other, Jamie Hince and Mosshart finally polished off Keep On Your Mean Side in 2001, but it took two further years until Domino released their album, which was hailed by many as one of the finest debut releases of the century at the time.

On May 5 of this year, Domino Records will reissue the album in America, adding to the original twelve songs with bonus tracks from both the Fried My Little Brains and Black Rooster EPs, along with a B-side from the "Pull a U" single, with covers thrown in to boot.

Here is the track list:

  1. Superstition
  2. Cat Claw
  3. Pull a U
  4. Kissy Kissy
  5. Fried My Little Brains
  6. Hand
  7. Hitched
  8. Black Rooster
  9. Wait
  10. Fuck the People
  11. Monkey 23
  12. Gypsy Death & You
  13. Gum
  14. Jewel Thief
  15. Sugar Baby
  16. The Search for Cherry Red
  17. Dropout Boogie
